Sundari Chaudhary was born in a peasant family. Despite not being a Kamaiya, her father sent her to work at a landowner\u2019s house due to owing him a loan. There she experienced violence and abuse from the hands of the landowner\u2019s wife. Even though she was supposed to work for a year, she fled the house after 9 months and returned home. However, upon returning home she was married off at the age of 12. Since she was married to a Kamaiya family, she was also made into a Kamaiya. Even after being freed by the government, she had to work three jobs to maintain herself. During this time she was exposed to plenty of Tharu liberation groups and started being involved in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
