Kamalapati Chaudhari spent most of her childhood away from her family as a Kamlari at a stranger\u2019s house. Even though she married at 18, her husband\u2019s family was still bonded so she still had to work as a Kamaiya. After the Kamaiya Andolan resulted in the freeing of Kamaiya in 2057 B.S., they had to flee to \u201cunder the trees and towards the fields\u201d. Right now, she is still in revolt, fighting for the rights of ex-Kamaiyas and other marginalized people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
